Humanist Wedding Ceremonies

Unique, personal and truly memorable.

A humanist wedding ceremony lets you marry in a way that feels right for you. Humanist Fellowship of Scotland wedding ceremonies are warm, personal and as individual as you are.

What is one of the most important days of your life should be an experience to treasure. We get to know you and together create a humanist ceremony reflecting who you are. Whether you want a discreet, intimate event, an utterly romantic occasion in a castle or to be out in the in the wonderful Scottish countryside or on a beach, we help make it what you want it to be. Your wedding ceremony is, after all, the whole reason for your day and will be cherished for ever. You can view some testimonials from our previous humanist wedding ceremonies here.

Traditionally summer Saturdays were the preferred choice for weddings but there is a growing demand for year round ceremonies as well as midweek and early evening weddings that we are happy to support. This also applies to our humanist renewal of vows ceremonies.

Start planning your humanist wedding ceremony

To start the process, simply contact one of our humanist celebrants to check availability and discuss your wedding plans. We are authorised by the Registrar General for Scotland to conduct legal wedding ceremonies throughout Scotland at the location of your choice. If you need some inspiration for your location look at our wedding venue suggestions page.

Our celebrants are also delighted to be able to help same-sex couples plan their own legal marriage ceremonies following the legislation which came into effect in Scotland on 31st December 2014.
